DBTDA is a colorless to yellow liquid, low-temperature white crystals. DBTDAsoluble in the most common, such as benzene, ethanol, benzene, ethanol, and other solvents and various industrial plasticizers, DBTDA is insoluble in water.

DBTDAused as a catalyst in the vulcanizing cure of silicones at room temperatures. Especially suitable for acetoxy sealant. Normally the mixed ratio is DBTDA: DBTDL=1:9 to 2:8; also as a catalyst of polyurethane coating.
